If you’ve read a little of my story (you can find that HERE), you’ve likely seen that I’ve experienced some hardship in my life. As a young widow and suddenly single mother of a sweet little boy, I definitely had moments of questioning my own strength. But it was in those moments that God’s Word called out to me and showed me exactly who I was – a precious child of God who was loved and supported in all things. People ask me all the time how I made it through so much pain and the most honest answer I can give is that God carried me every step of the way. It wasn’t MY strength that got me through it, it was HIS strength and an understanding that, no matter what I faced, He would be there to guide me through it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to remind myself of those lessons throughout my life – because of course we can’t control the hardships we’ll face. We don’t know what’s coming down the path. But I take great comfort in knowing that God does know what’s coming and He knows exactly how He’s going to lead us through it. So, any time I feel weary or weak or afraid, I go back to God’s word and I remember what He’s promised me.
Just wanted to share some of my favorite Psalms in hopes that you might find the same strength in these verses that they’ve always given me. No matter what you’re facing, just know that God’s got more than enough strength and courage for you, if you only ask it of Him.
